What Can You Expect?Sessions usually last between two and two and a half hours. I prefer to work in person, in my office in downtown Santa Cruz, California. If you are unable to get to my office, I am also willing to work long-distance, over the phone. To do this, I ask that you send me a recent photograph of yourself. Emailing a digital photo is often most convenient. During a SessionAt the beginning of a session, we talk. We explore the themes and issues in your life. What do you want to see change? Sometimes people come with a great deal of clarity about what they want to change in their lives. Sometimes we use the conversation to help clarify what is going on, what is okay as it is, what seems like it needs to change, what the causes of problems might be, etc. We talk until we’re both clear on the goals of our work together. Next, I do a short journey to figure out what healing work is appropriate to do in the session. You can sit or lie however you feel most comfortable. I shut my eyes and quietly go consult with the healing spirits I work with, and they give me the treatment plan. This only takes a few minutes. Next, I tell you what the plan is, and align our intentions. Then we do whatever healing I’ve been guided to do. To see some of the possible forms this can take, please see the page on specific healing techniques. There is often a lot of quiet time during this part of the session while I am in a shamanic journey or am moving energy with the spirits who doing healing work with me. When I am done with each section of the healing work, I check in with you, tell you what I have experienced, and see how you are doing. After a SessionShamanic healing rearranges people at the most fundamental levels, and it can take a while to find a new internal balance. Most of the time, people feel pretty good after a session. Nonetheless, I suggest that you treat yourself gently for a few days after you see me. Some people have low energy for a few days. It takes energy to reintegrate pieces of spirit that may have been missing for years. It can take time to integrate the changes and get used to the new way you feel inside. |
